I’ve got a big sweet tooth at the moment and because summers around the corner I need to be lean and clean so those chocolate bars and sweets do not make the cut.
I’ve been playing around with recipes to try find the perfect healthy sweet treat. I’ve had a protein cookie disaster and I don’t even want to talk about my “chocolate protein balls” or pile of mush that I created.
Finally (thank you lord!) I found a winning combination that kicked my craves to the curb and gave me that sugar buzz I needed because I was starting to get a little crazy
What’s in them?
- Protein powder
- Chia Seeds
- Peanut Butter
- Coconut oil
Yup that is all! so really you have no excuse because they are so easy to make so put down that chocolate bar girls and think of those summer abs
I wanted a bar that was sweet and full of goodness to give me a healthy energy kick to keep my body going for longer and keep me full until my next meal
Low cal, high in protein,good source of fibre and some good antioxidants
Lots! of nutrients, gluten free, promotes digestive health and high in fibre and also low cal
High in good fats!, can help lower blood pressure, keep you fuller for longer and I just really love almonds. They give me life people.
Supports regular bowel movements, good source of sugar and energy
Oats,peanut butter and coconut oil bring this all together and of course some more protein powder to get that added kick of protein to help keep me fuller for longer
These bars and sweet and delicious and you’ll only need a small piece to satisfy your cravings and you wont be feeling guilty afterwards!
Store them in an airtight container in your fridge and eat whenever that sugar tooth hits
But again everything in moderation just because it’s better for you doesn’t mean you need to eat the whole tray (I know the struggle is real)
